When: Sunday, March 10th at 7PM
Where: The Wildcat @ 23rd & Spring in the Central District
What:
A necessary contribution to both anarchist and queer struggles, Queering Anarchism brings together 3 years of writing about different aspects of anarchism, queer struggles and a myriad of interconnected subjects. Two contributors to the book, Gayge and Hexe, will be leading a discussion about the book and their pieces, which focus on class struggle and sexuality, respectively. There is a dire need to both provide explicitly queer perspectives on the class struggle and to reinvigorate a working class movement for queer liberation. Gayge will read from their piece, and discuss what queers can bring to the table in terms of creating truly communal forms of care and struggle in both our workplaces and our neighborhoods. Delving deep into the hind ends of both anarchism and BDSM results in a discussion of consent culture in both communities, encompassing power and control in anarchist organizing, relationships and love.
