On Feb. 7 a small group of anarchists responding to a callout for solidarity, and dropped a banner over Grandview and Commercial, Coast Salish territory with a message of solidarity to comrades in Egypt.

Anarchists in Cairo have begun employing black bloc tactics in their struggle against state oppression and violence, making them the target of hate and criticism. The public prosecutor in Cairo has called for the arrests of all black bloc anarchists, and the Islamist party of the Jihad Organization has called for either their hands and feet to be cut off, or for them to be crucified as "people who bring mischief to this world". This atrocity is marked and acknowledged here by imprints of our own hands and feet.

Fuck fascism, fuck oppression, fuck the state and fuck religious fanaticism. We stand with our comrades the world over, and acknowledge no borders between us

The comrades on stolen Coast Salish Territory printed their hands and feet on the banner, to recognize the call for "the hands and feet" of Egyptian comrades. Black glitter also fell from the sky as the banner soared over the drive.
