A Few Points of Clarification on the Current State of Repression: Some thoughts on Rebellion and Clandestinity

I would first like to quote a comrade currently in clandestinity, because I feel they have stated my thoughts the best “...anarchists carry prison in their genetics”.

Some of our comrades have decided that their best choice in these moments is to appear in front of the Grand Jury. I will not condemn their choices, nor will I say it is incorrect. It is a decision they have made for themselves because of their future and the desire to be amongst their loved ones sooner rather than later.

Angry anarchists plan to ‘Pack the Court’

Anarchists around the Puget Sound planned to meet Monday at the King County Courthouse to show protesters arrested on May Day they are not alone.

An anarchist website, Pughetsoundanarchists.org, called for people to “Pack the Court” in advance of a preliminary trial featuring three alleged anarchists who were arrested on May 1 following unpermitted protests that erupted into chaos. The protesters are being held in King County Jail on felony assault and riot charges in lieu of $60,000 bail. Their hearing begins at 2:30 p.m.

Regarding "the Anarchists of the Puget Sound"

This is not addressed to the greater, more vague milieu of anarchists that reside in the Puget Sound. This is addressed to those who signed the email to Stranger "journalist" Brendan Kiley about the damage done to Bill's Off Broadway and Sun Liquors on this year's May Day in Seattle. For background, please read the article entitled "May Day Anarchists Will Compensate Small Businesses Whose Windows Were Smashed" under the "From The Mainstream" section on this website.

During the last week, several of us decided to self-organize and pass to the attack.

Because capitalism is totalitarian.

Because financial institutions, Desjardins banks included, are agents of this domination. Because they are responsible for the financial crisis, yet always come out on top. Because the condition of their existence is the negation of ours.

Spring has sprung! This is a call for everyone who wants to celebrate May 1st by honoring the history and struggle of May Day. We will converge together in solidarity with our comrades facing repression from last year's May 1st demonstrations and also to continue to stand against the oppression of our everyday lives in all forms, from the borders to the prisons and from bosses to the police.
