[SEATTLE] The People Armed: Remembrance & Celebration

July 19, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

You are invited to a vegan potluck and discussion in remembrance and celebration of the Spanish Revolution and the insurgencies that have followed, including the events of 1968 in many places, the Arab Spring and the revolution throughout Syria.

When: July 19 at 6:00 p.m.
Where: Pipsqueak Gallery, 173 16th Ave. (at Spruce), Seattle

“No government in the world fights Fascism to the death. When the bourgeoisie sees power slipping from its grasp, it has recourse to Fascism to maintain itself. The Liberal Government of Spain could have rendered the Fascist elements powerless long ago. Instead it compromised and dallied….The bourgeoisie might blast and ruin its own world before it leaves the stage of history. We carry a new world here, in our hearts. That world is growing this minute.”
—Buenaventura Durruti interviewed in September 1936 by Pierre van Paasen of the Toronto Star
