Court Support for Andre & Bryson
May 2, 2017 @ 9:00 am - May 11, 2017 @ 4:30 pm
Show up to support brothers Andre Thompson and Bryson Chaplin as they go to trial. The family has asked for ongoing support in the form of showing up to court whenever possible to show solidarity.
Notes:
Court Sessions take place from 9 AM- 4:30 PM, Monday-Thursday. *sometimes this varies, please be patient if this changes.
There is a morning break, a lunch break, and an afternoon break.
As requested by the judge, and in solidarity with the Chaplin-Thompson family, no hats or headwear allowed in the courtroom, unless it is for religious purposes. Signs are not allowed, and neither are “statement” or “Justice” tee-shirts.
Do not talk about the trial in the area of the courthouse, in the hallways, etc.
Remember that as an audience of supporters, we are there to be attentive observers; our emotions/opinions should be kept to ourselves when supporting the family.
[On May 21st, 2015 Andre and Bryson were shot by Olympia PD Officer Ryan Donald. They survived, with serious medical and emotional effects.Instead of the Officer being fired, or held accountable, Andre and Bryson are on trial for outrageous and unjust accusations that they assaulted Officer Donald.
Show up to resist these charges, and to support Andre, Bryson, their mom Crystal, a family who has been forever changed due to this act of brutality and its aftermath.]
