Wet’suwet’en Solidarity in the PNW

Since 2010, people from the Wet’suwet’en Nation in so-called British Columbia, Canada have been organizing to stop the construction of natural gas pipeline through their traditional territory. Anarchists across the world have acted in solidarity with this struggle against colonial extraction, especially so in the Pacific Northwest. This page will attempt to serve as a clearinghouse and platform for information regarding solidarity actions, propaganda, and history of the cross-border struggle against pipelines and in defense of the sacred river Wedzin Kwa on Wet’suwet’en territory. Worth noting is that actions carried out on Wet’suwet’en territory in solidarity with revolutionary struggles across Turtle Island, though not directly related to extraction and Wedzin Kwa, are also listed to show the deeply connected nature of our struggles across national borders.

As of September of 2022, Coastal Gas Link had machinery in position for drilling under the Wedzin Kwa.

Published in 2013, this essay/zine from Crimethinc provides a clear background of the struggle against pipelines at Unist’ot’en: Standing On The Land To Stand Up Against Pipelines. The website Unistoten.camp is also an excellent resource on the history of the campaign as well as how to provide direct support.
