Unite Against Fascism: Remember Those Lost to Far-Right Violence [Seattle]

August 18, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Those that oppose intolerance and far-right violence are standing together against Patriot Prayer, the Proud Boys, and their fascist followers. The claim that these bullies are rallying in Seattle, and across the US, against “far-left violence” couldn’t be farther from the truth. These white supremacists and misogynists are directly responsible for the death of Charlottesville anti-fascist activist Heather Heyer, who was murdered a year ago this month. When they come to our communities, they bring violence, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, Islamophobia and anti-Semitism. As we unite together, we stand not only in opposition to that venomous hatred, but in powerful remembrance of those we have lost to far-right violence.

The bigotry and violence that these far-right organizers bring cannot be allowed to go unanswered. As a diverse political community, we understand that solidarity and unity in action is our greatest strength. Solidarity enables us to overcome the barriers towards building a powerful, democratic working-class movement. We will be shoulder-to-shoulder with all in our community who are targeted by the far-right in a unified, orderly and strong counter-protest.

Join the Seattle Democratic Socialists of America, Radical Women, Organized Workers for Labor Solidarity, the Party for Socialism and Liberation, the ANSWER Coalition (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism), and Freedom Socialist Party, and Refuse Fascism NW to stand against sexism, white supremacy and all forms of bigotry.
