Shooter of unarmed anti-racist walks free; Authorities silent.

From Twin Cities General Defense Committee GDC
SEATTLE, WA, January 25, 2017 — Social media activists claim to have identified the person who shot an anti-racist organizer on the University of Washington’s Seattle (UW-Seattle) campus on Friday, January 20, 2017, as a well-known right-wing gun activist attending white nationalist Milo Yiannopoulos’ event with his wife, also a gun activist. Although the shooter shot a person in a protest situation, University of Washington Police have refused to make an arrest, and released the shooter and the person who accompanied them to turn themselves into the police early Saturday morning. King County prosecutor Dan Satterberg has not indicated any plan to pursue prosecution. Local politicians have remained ominously quiet.

J20 in Olympia, WA: Youth Take the Streets!

From Its Going Down
Many have planned, speculated and awaited what J20 would look like this upcoming election cycle. In Olympia, a predominantly liberal capital city, we knew that there were going to be popular demonstrations consisting of the permitted marches and the “Not My President” chants. There were several major facebook events about actions at the capital; one even calling for an overnight occupation inside its main building (which was removed a couple of days before the event). The front steps of the capital by mid morning on January 20th consisted largely of teeenagers bussed in from city schools in the surrounding area. Arriving a little later in the morning and facing up the steps towards the young demonstrators were groups associated with Radicals/Anarchists (largely dressed in bloc), Olympia IWW, and a group largely consisting of POC that stood behind where speakers had microphone access.

On Chris Monfort’s Passing

From Puget Sound ABC
On Wednesday, January 18, I received a call from the devastated mother of Chris Monfort. She told me he’d been found dead in his prison cell that morning. Department of Corrections pigs at Washington State Penitentiary in Walla Walla said that he was found unresponsive at 7:45 am, cause of death unknown. I am so glad I found out through his mom, instead of the police-worshiping, people-hating mass media. In terms of friends, Chris was about quality over quantity, and very few people had his back when he transitioned from “civilian” to “citizen.” That said, I am writing this so you can find out a little bit of who he was in the words of his friend…rather than the police-worshiping, people-hating mass media.

What Counts as Violence? Why the Right Can Shoot Us Now

A long-time anti-fascist was shot Friday night during a protest of alt-right racist and troll Milo Yiannopoulos, in the middle of a crowded square. The shooter, who later turned himself in, claiming self-defense, was released by UW police early Saturday morning. Somehow, this is barely newsworthy. Meanwhile, local news outlets condemn the violent protesters for throwing “potentially lethal” balloons filled with paint. This is our new reality.

Fascist shoots out windows in downtown Olympia

UPDATE: The Olympian is now reporting that the police are still looking for the suspect and that it may have been a low caliber gun that was used.
Please note that cooperating with police can often end up being used against antifascists or other anti-authoritarians in these situations.
The police will not help keep us safe.

Milo Yiannopoulos Event Massively Disrupted at University of Washington, One Comrade Shot

from Its Going Down
Seattle – Milo Yiannopoulos was scheduled to speak at the University of Washington at J20. The exact numbers in line to attend were difficult to estimate but may have been 500 or more, many of whom were outright neo-nazis.

With a massive march in downtown which included an anarchist breakaway, perhaps only 30 antifa were on hand at the beginning to attempt to disrupt the event.

Olympia Activist Outed as Alt-Right Type

(Content warning for Anti-Semitism in pictures & her twitter)
A local Olympia activist, who's name we believe is Karma Reynoldson, has
turned out to be an Alt-Right, self described 'American Nationalist'.
Activists whom we've talk to about her have told us she said things like how
much she hates trump, hates cops, supports black lives matter, and stuff like
that, but that it has sounded forced and that many got 'weird vibes' from
her.
As it turns out, by scrolling through her twitter, she's very anti-left (and
