Thursday, Oct. 11th: Pacific Coast Security Phone Zap

The Olympia Solidarity Network (OlySol) is waging a campaign against anti-homeless security contracts held between downtown businesses, property managers and building owners, and the private security firm, Pacific Coast Security (PCS). PCS operates nightly patrols in downtown Olympia, displacing and criminalizing people sleeping in alcoves and alleyways. We encourage supporters to express solidarity by participating in a phone zap against Pacific Coast Security.

Call PCS: 253-535-4433

Phone script provided by OlySol:

“Hello Pacific Coast Security. It has come to my attention and the attention of hundreds of concerned community members that you contract with a number of downtown Olympia businesses, property managers and building owners to conduct security daily patrols in the Olympia Downtown Alliance’s “Downtown Safety Team” initiative. These patrols sweep houseless people from alcoves and alleyways from 8 PM to 12 AM. We believe these practices are discriminatory, unethical, and exacerbate the crisis of houselessness in our community and abroad. It appears that Pacific Coast Security cares more about maximizing profit and property values than the lives of people living in poverty. We demand that you cancel your contracts with participants in this security scheme.”
